The history of Central Ohio N-trak, Inc., begins with four people and an interest in N-scale model railroading and N-trak modules
On June 14, 1989, the four founded the club called Central Ohio N-Trak, Inc. These four were Roy Bodd, Dave Williams, Craig Thompson and Steve Mahaney.
The club called Contrak for short, set up for mall shows and train shows. Then the NMRA awarded the 1992 national convention to Columbus, Division 6, MCR, the members of Contrak, were asked to handle the N-East convention to be held concurrent with the national. Discover N’ 92 was born. At the time of the 1992 convention, the club hand about 12 members.
From 1993 to 2000 Contrak leased the Model Railroading Building at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. The club increased to 50 members and added HO, Z, and G Railroads.
From 2001 to the present, the club has had its club layouts, N, Z and HO at 3840 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio. The club presently has around 24 members and its layouts are open on Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
